Meet Abbie, Our Marketing Intern at Intelligent Decisioning

Share socially -

As a part of our summer internship programme, we are putting the spotlight on our interns to share their experience at working at Intelligent Decisioning. To end the summer with a bang, we catch up with our Marketing Intern Abbie, to share her experience!

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

My name is Abbie, I’m 23 and I’m in my third year of University and decided to do my end-of-studies internship as a Marketing Coordinator at Intelligent Decisioning. I’m from Nottingham (The best city in the Midlands) where I started my studies. I will be graduating in 2019 with a degree in Marketing. I see myself in a managerial Marketing position where I can be at the heart of launching new campaigns and managing new products.

I am passionate about creativity, innovation and storytelling. I chose Intelligent Decisioning for my Internship as I knew I would have many responsibilities and coaches with whom I would work with to develop new content for our Social platforms and work on other creative tasks to contribute towards the business. What I love the most about working at Intelligent Decisioning is the independence and trust. I have been given the creative freedom to experiment with new ideas and set my own personal tasks which I can get on with knowing I have the support and extra input if I need it.

Outside work, I am a bit of a tomboy. I particularly enjoy Mountain biking, hiking and other outdoor pursuits such as climbing and running!

Give us some fun facts about yourself!

When I was 18, I wrote a naughty tweet about Grand Designs (the programme) and it ended up on the TV! Let’s say, I learnt how easy it is to find old tweets on Twitter! Be careful what you post folks!

Give us 3 emojis to describe your team!

Fun, supportive and hardworking describe how my team is. I chose the moon emoji as many of the team keep working well into the night! Everyone always helps each other with projects they are working on and are not afraid to stay behind to get a job done! Work hard and play hard is the motto in this company and we always have a laugh along the way! They are a really inspiring team and I could not have asked for a better one!

What are some of your greatest moments during your time at Intelligent Decisioning?

One of the greatest moments for me was the opportunity to make new friends. The team are so friendly and easy to get along with. I think this is a really important aspect for a successful working environment. For me, Intelligent Decisioning is a great place to work as there are lots of opportunities to get to know the team outside of the Office with lots of fun out of work events to attend!

Describe a project you are working on!

I am working on two projects at the moment. The first is designing new marketing material for our website. I had to create an E-Brochure to support our Mercury Intranet product which will be used on the website but also to send to potential customers. I am also managing the social media platforms, creating new content, monitoring and responding to brand mentions. It’s very rewarding to be given these responsibilities and being able to have such an impact on the company.

Have your perceptions about Intelligent Decisioning changed from what you knew about Id before?

Definitely! It’s really given me an insight to what it’s like to work in an IT environment. ID is so much more than an IT Consultancy and Intranet provider, they are like a little family which is really great to be a part of!

You started at Intelligent Decisioning as an intern, where did you hear about us and why did you choose us?

I was looking for a summer internship to support my final year of studies. I found the job on LinkedIn and it sounded perfect! I applied and here I am today!

Do you have any words of advice for aspiring people applying for Intelligent Decisioning?

Self-motivated, Independent and Creative. If you’re looking to get the most hands-on experience out of an internship this is the place to do it! I am faced with new projects and challenges every day and it’s great to be given the creative freedom to create and test new ideas!
