Vacancy: Web Developer


We have exciting new opportunities for Associate Web Developers in a growing Microsoft Partner company specialising in SharePoint and Office 365 using predominantly client side technologies to deliver solutions to our customers. Reporting into a Senior Developer, this role offers the opportunity for the successful web developer to work in an environment where they will develop client-side components for Office 365 and on SharePoint Online.

The role will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Working in small development teams in an Agile environment
  • Keeping up to date with the latest Office 365, SharePoint Online and Azure development practices
  • Expanding our innovative product range in addition to contributing to the ongoing development of new products and working on our portfolio of client projects
  • Developing our SharePoint Online Intranet solution – Mercury
  • Working with clients to deliver Intranets based on Mercury and other SharePoint Online based applications
  • Engaging with fellow developers, UX designers, testers and stakeholders to support with all work requirements
  • Work as part of an Agile team, communicate daily progress and perform regular presentations
  • Working with Testers to ensure solution quality, performance and supportability
  • Communicate with SCRUM Master and Senior Developers

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of solutions under the tutelage of a Senior Developer
  • Liaising with existing and new clients through ‘Show & Tells’
  • Produce clean, quality and efficient code, making full use of HTML5, JavaScript and TypeScript (Angular 2/4, React)
  • Develop and execute comprehensive integration and unit testing
  • Support the production of accurate estimates for development work
  • Participate in the team’s analysis of complex problems
  • The ability to self-manage to plan and organise your time so that all work is completed satisfactorily and meets agreed deadlines
  • Develop new features and enhance exists features of our Mercury solution in line with our current product architecture
  • The ability to create basic UI wireframes where required
  • Generate quality documentation for design and development artifacts
  • Use Source Control to check-in/branch code on a regular basis – specifically using Git and Visual Studio Online

  • Excellent knowledge in UI technologies & frameworks, ideally TypeScript
  • At least 3 years’ experience in front end web development
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM
  • Experience in designing, marking up and developing responsive UIs for web applications
  • Experience of working with 3rd party frameworks such as Angular 2, ReactJS and Bootstrap
  • Good markup skills utilising HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Good knowledge of RESTful API principles
  • Some experience using Source Control, specifically Visual Studio Online and Git
