Assay Office - Bespoke Development

Intelligent Decisioning develop bespoke development to the Assay Office hallmarking process

The Business Problem

The Birmingham Assay Office is an organisation that was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1773. Their mission is “To protect consumers by providing innovative test and certification services in compliance with legislation and regulations”.

The Assay Office required a custom workflow platform that drove the hallmarking process, a process which is executed in the UK and India.

They required a modern, digital, automated workflow to control the hallmarking process. This meant automating manual tasks where automation was possible, driving the remaining manual tasks and providing integration with the Assay Office billing system for reliable, error free billing.

“Intelligent Decisioning very quickly got to grips with what we needed for our processes and delivered a quality system that is ensuring we remain "Globally recognised certification for protection, regulation and compliance."”

Our Approach

id meet with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts at the Assay Office to discuss their requirements and to demonstrate how id could quickly and efficiently deliver their requirements.

Due to the relative proximity between the Assay Office and id meetings, updates, demos and training were held as a mixture of face to face meetings and Microsoft Teams calls.

Complex, custom development was delivered by id to support the Assay Office which utilised modern development practices and techniques.
