The National Portrait Gallery - Digital Workplace

The National Portrait Gallery uses Mercury to connect staff across sites

The Business Problem

The National Portrait Gallery  is a charity and home to the world’s largest collection of  portraits from the Middle Ages to the present day.

When they wanted to connect their staff who work in multiple locations, they asked id to provide their Mercury communication and collaboration platform as the route into their Digital Workplace.

“Working with id and their Mercury product enabled us to quickly and efficiently deploy a Digital Workplace for our staff that made them feel part of one organisation”
Nicky Dowland

Our Approach

id met with senior stakeholders at The National Portrait Gallery to discuss their requirements and to demonstrate how ids Mercury intranet product would meet their current, and future, needs.

The main deployment of Mercury was completed within a day and id worked with Internal Communication and Human Resource Representatives to  deliver the configuration required to deliver a world class Digital Workplace.

Key Features

As Mercury is a modern SharePoint platform it supports deep integration with Microsoft Teams, Exchange for Emails and Calendar, ToDo and others (any others?). Mercury is easily added as an app to the top of the main Teams navigation bar providing easy access without switching applications, while a Mercury Teams webpart allows SharePoint pages to provide personalised views of the Microsoft Teams that the user is a member of.
